Code tour: 1/11 to 1/26
Here's a list of 11 bugs that have been resolved since the last code tour! They will be live with the next code push.
Bug 360: /community/pending.bml refers to (deleted) strings in /community/members.bml
Category: English-Stripping
Patch by:
denise
Description: Some strings from the /community/pending page were missing! Whoops! This puts them back where they should be.
Bug 1728: ColorSide footer two pixels too wide in Opera
Category: Style System
Patch by:
afuna
Description: This fixes a CSS problem for the ColorSide footer, where it was too wide in some browsers; now it is consistent.
Bug 2115: fix t/console-tags.t
Category: Misc Backend
Patch by:
kareila and
yvi
Description: Tests are there to help and try and catch problems in the code automatically. This test was broken, but now is fixed!
Bug 2135: Interests of one user replacing interests of another user
Category: Misc Backend
Patch by:
alierak
Description: This was a rather scary bug with an obscure cause. Only a few people fell victim to it, but basically, if conditions were juuuuust right, somebody's interests would get replaced by somebody else's interests. We found the cause, fixed it for the interests, and found other places where this kind of problem might come up, just to be sure.
Bug 2166: Screen all comments (including yours) when entry is set to screen 'all comments'
Category: Journal contents
Patch by:
yvi
Description: It used to be that comments by journal owners or community admins would go through automatically without being screened. This change makes it so that all comments being screened means your comments are screened, too, since you can always unscreen them if you want to.
Bug 2171: Promote latest page more
Category: Misc UI/Frontend
Patch by:
ninetydegrees
Description: The latest page is a good place for people to go find content on DW! This puts it in more places so more people will find it.
Bug 2180: Slight modification to "Compose Message" page
Category: Inbox/Notifications
Patch by: none
Description: The composing message page, for private messages, had a button that said "send message" (which loads a new BLANK message) and one that says "send". Kind of ambiguous! It was already changed in the code, though, so
denise went and changed it in the translation system so that "send message" was "new message". Much less confusing!
Bug 2181: allow community maintainers to control polls
Category: Communities
Patch by:
denise
Description: This lets community admins close or open polls posted in their communities.
Bug 2239: new priv, suspend:openid
Category: Site Administration
Patch by:
denise
Description: This lets people who have this privilege suspend OpenID accounts for spam purposes--but not regular accounts!
Bug 2268: bugs in filter options on popsubscriptions page
Category: Misc Backend
Patch by:
yvi
Description: This fixed a couple little bugs with the new popular subscriptions page! Now, selecting one of the filters will make that option selected on reload, and using filter options other than filter=1 won't give you accounts you've already subscribed to.
If you want to do a code tour, there are instructions. They're done on Mondays before the
dw_news update--you'll just need to let
denise knowing you're doing it. And if you'd like me to make the template for you, you can ask for it!
