Code tour: 2018-01-25 to 2018-02-26

Tiiiiiiiiiiny code tour. It's okay, next month's will -- as a result of the volunteer weekend I'm hosting in London, joining us remotely very welcome -- be bigger. Unless it's so much bigger that I hide under my blanket until forced to face my fears by the next code push.

One of these is already live, one makes absolutely no difference unless you're poking around the code on github, and one will make a bit of a difference after the next code push.

Issue 1492: Use obvious Markdown file extension for README (pull request) (nonfree pull request)
Category:
Patch by: [github.com profile] me-and
Description: #1492 had already been fixed once -- for the dw-free repository. A little while ago Adam got bored, and realised he could do the exact same thing for the dw-nonfree repository. Scroll down to the bottom and see the pretty display!

Issue 2264: Error messages in cgi-bin/DW/Setting/ShortcutsKeypress.pm lines 73, 83, 93 (pull request)
Category:
Patch by: [github.com profile] akpdw
Description: As requested by [personal profile] kareila! This was a minor problem with the new module for keyboard shortcuts for Previous/Next Entry: there were some syntax errors that needed fixing so the code would run without complaining, and this was very straightforwardly resolved.

Issue 2306: Troubleshoot "Turn off mobile view" setting
Category:
Patch by: [github.com profile] alierak
Description: People like being able to select the "Turn off mobile view" setting and have it actually apply, who'd have thought! The way this works, in theory, is that you choose the setting and Dreamwidth hands your browser a cookie (no milk). In practice, Dreamwidth's defence-against-DDoS-attacks system thought the cookie was Bad and Suspicious and Not To Be Countenanced. [github.com profile] alierak has now had a quiet word, and this should be working (already!).

I'm sorry I didn't send feedback sooner. I meant to, but there's been a lot going on around here and I sort of lost track. *blush*
