My presentation on dreamwidth

I have prepared a presentation on dreamwidth for introducing my juniors towards the open source world. So that they could have a good start in contributing to new projects. It would be great to hear some suggestions on this so that I could improve my presentation.

Aw, that's awesome! Here are some of my thoughts.

Spelling/grammar tweak: "Basically its a Live Journal" = "Basically it's a LiveJournal" -- however, this comparison will only work if your juniors are familiar with LiveJournal, but you know your audience. If you suspect they don't know LJ very well, might want to use "online journal" or another more generic term

* Note on BML: We are trying to move away from it to something more standard in Perl called Template Toolkit. I don't know if that's relevant to your presentation, though, as most of DW is still in BML! The other custom language we have is S2, which is what people can make custom styles in, so that might also be relevant.

* Since you are linking to [site community profile] dw_dev and whatnot, and people need an account to post there, maybe try asking Support for a promo code for your presentation, so people can sign up with less hassle?

* "Create a LiveJournal in dreamhack and try out" -- I'd suggest "create a journal" because it's a bit of a misnomer to call an account made on a Dreamhack a LiveJournal

Just open a support request here, and ask for a promo code:

http://www.dreamwidth.org/support/submit

They are different from usual invitation codes--one promo code will work for multiple sign ups!
