my door is always open!
I've seen a few people mentioning that they're frustrated or upset about certain things having to do with DW development, or that there are things that are annoying them, and I realized I haven't said this for a while (even though I've been operating under this principle from moment #1): if you are ever uncomfortable, annoyed, irritated, upset, or just generally unhappy about something (henceforth referred to as 'being stressed'), please come talk to me about it. Whether it's a specific list of the things that are stressing you that you want to notify me about so I can try to fix them, or just a "I am having a bad day and I need a hug and some reassurances that I am not being unreasonable". (Although, I will say that my default first impulse, personality-wise, is to try to come up with ways to make the situation better, so if you just want a hug, tell me up front that you aren't interested in fixit brainstorming!)
I can't promise that I'll be able to fix whatever is stressing you, but I will most sincerely try. I know a lot of people don't want to 'bother' me because I'm busy or because I'm dealing with a lot of health/energy-level stuff, but as far as I'm concerned, the happiness and non-stressedness of y'all is my #1 priority. (Okay, my #2 priority, with #1 being making sure that the bills are paid on time. But making sure the bills are paid on time doesn't take up a lot of my time.)
You can drop me an email, grab me in irc if you see me active (for health/energy reasons, I've been limiting my active-in-irc time, but I will see PMs when I get back to the screen), or contact me via AIM (I am always connected unless my laptop is physically away from the connection, but always invisible, and may need to confirm your screen name first depending on how your client implements the protocol; poke me for my screen name).
Somewhat related, if there's anything concrete that I can be doing (or not doing) to make your experience with doing DW work less stress-filled, I am very interested in hearing it. I've set this post to screen all comments (so that only community maintainers will see them) and temporarily turned anonymous commenting on in the community, in case people are uncomfortable commenting with a name attached. (If you comment anonymously I won't be able to reply, but I will consider everything that people bring up and see what I can do.)
