It's time for another question thread!

So there was a Python script called ljdump, version 1.5.1, that works with older versions of python but not with whatever the modern one is (Python 3? Or is it up to 4 now?). I always used it to download my DW posts and comments easily. Recently, I found an updated one that fixed a bunch of the bugs in the original, but I now can't find it, and even praying to the Googles for guidance hasn't helped. Anyone know where it is now?

I'm only very vaguely familiar with Python, but https://github.com/timmc/ljdump looks like a maintained fork (and converted to Python3). I was able to locate it by going to the original GH repo you linked to and clicking on the "33 forks" link on the right pane to list the forks.

When sending a DM to someone, I noticed the icon selector is different (more of an emphasis on a "list view"), and not like the "browse" of the newer posting/commenting icon selector (more of a "gallery view" with larger icons).

Are there plans to eventually make them match?

Belatedly: are you using the beta inbox page, or the default one? That is, what does the button text for the "inbox page" section in https://www.dreamwidth.org/beta say?

My bad, I should have looked first. :)

Inbox page = default, button says "turn ON beta"

My normal "create entries" page IS beta.

I'd forgotten I turned that on for regular entries! I'll try the beta inbox...

Hahaha that's my problem, I like the beta version but not the default. Problem solved! I'll stick with "beta" on the inbox now. :)

Same issue, new location, and question

New (to me) location of the older "default" style icon picker: Profile page / "private message" option

I checked the Beta page, but I'm not sure which one that falls under, if any? I've already got "new entries" and "inbox" betas turned on.

I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you saying that the "Private message" link on another user's profile page doesn't respect your choice of the beta inbox composer? If that's what you mean, I'd say it's a bug. In that case, let me know and I'll try to have a look (or ask the new inbox developer to).

Yea. User profile -- click "private message" -- click icon to bring up the icon picker, got the default. (just duplicated it bouncing over to your profile too, so I know it's just not isolated to one at least.)


*Edit: I wasn't sure if there was supposed to be a different setting for that or not, so that's why I mentioned it.*
