Question thread #92
It's time for another question thread!
The rules:
- You may ask any dev-related question you have in a comment. (It doesn't even need to be about Dreamwidth, although if it involves a language/library/framework/database Dreamwidth doesn't use, you will probably get answers pointing that out and suggesting a better place to ask.)
- You may also answer any question, using the guidelines given in To Answer, Or Not To Answer and in this comment thread.

Will @ shortcuts ever work in entry and comment subject lines?
I love the @ shortcuts(1) working almost everywhere! Is there a plan for them to work in subject lines as well?
Based on my trial-and-error, the only way to get a userhead in the subject line is with the

i've confirmed that it also happens when i email post manually, not just when i build an automated post.
what happens is that i make a link with markdown in the email, but what gets posted to DW has an extra space before and after the url, like so:
[a link]( https://osxdaily.com/2015/01/11/increase-text-size-terminal-app-mac-keystrokes/ )
what troubleshooting steps can i follow to determine if this is coming from gmail or Dreamwidth? my gut says this is something with DW's markdown parsing but 🤷🏻♀️

that said, i do feel like replacing "]( " with "](" and " )" with ")" in email posts might be healthier than not.

Oh hmm, that’s an interesting edge case. Noted for later. (Sorry for necroposting, I missed this originally and saw it while hunting something else.)
