Question thread #78

It's time for another question thread!

The rules:

- You may ask any dev-related question you have in a comment. (It doesn't even need to be about Dreamwidth, although if it involves a language/library/framework/database Dreamwidth doesn't use, you will probably get answers pointing that out and suggesting a better place to ask.)
- You may also answer any question, using the guidelines given in To Answer, Or Not To Answer and in this comment thread.

Is there a Dreamwidth mobile app, or are people working on one? If so, are they using React Native or some other things to develop the app?

I've been building an iOS app.

I hope to move on to an Android app after I get the bugs worked out.

Last night I poked around on Journalfen after reading a little bit about it, but didn't find much. Is it still a thing or not? I noticed that it was nearly identical to Dreamwidth in terms of the interface. Just curious.

How interesting! They used to be running a copy of the LJ code that broke down, but that's definitely a DW installation at the domain now. From the system and guineapig accounts mentioned on the front page of the domain, it looks like they tried in 2015 to restore the broken LJ install on the DW codebase, but didn't have a lot of technical expertise to get everything working.
