Question thread #76
It's time for another question thread!
The rules:
- You may ask any dev-related question you have in a comment. (It doesn't even need to be about Dreamwidth, although if it involves a language/library/framework/database Dreamwidth doesn't use, you will probably get answers pointing that out and suggesting a better place to ask.)
- You may also answer any question, using the guidelines given in To Answer, Or Not To Answer and in this comment thread.

I don't know much about Docker, but I think some people use virtual machines on their computers and use http://wiki.dreamwidth.net/wiki/index.php/Dreamwidth_Scratch_Installation as the installation procedure. Would that work for you? (Also, if Docker installation is possible and easier, we'd appreciate wiki documentation of that.)

I’ve kept the dependencies updated, and it should work fine; I haven’t gotten much feedback on it, but I’m pretty sure at least two other people have used it, based on comments here and in the Discord. Just keep in mind that I meant what I said in the readme about needing a fast, unmetered Internet connection. 😣

If you haven't gotten one, feel free to resubmit the form at hack.dreamwidth.net and I can rerun the creation?
Edit: Or use the vagrant solution -- it's pretty good :)

Edit: it totally did.
