coding get-togethers

This poll should not be construed as me making any promises, but is generally feeling people out. I will say that I get so much more programming done when I am with other dreamwidth people, even if I'm not asking them for any help at all. And sometimes asking for help just constitutes talking your problem out loud to somebody else who understands it.

I am anonymizing responses because the final question could be used to tell people where you live.

Close enough that I would seriously consider taking some time to roadtrip.

Not as close as Momiji, tho. ;)

Oh hey, I know where you are! I think a round trip air flight would be less of a hassle and not that much more expensive that a roadtrip, ha. Unless you wanted to roadtrip, I suppose.

I'm super-happy to answer styles questions, and if you want, I can do a voice chat over something when my internet isn't fussy.

I tend to do documentation drafts, rather than coding. And yes, it's great fun (and great productivity) working with others!

I am San Francisco Bay Area.

Am in the Philippines and I'd love to have a hackathon here as well! Realistically speaking, it would probably take a teleporter. But I'm probably going to be in Boston the week after YAPC and if there was a hackathon scheduled for then, I'd be extremely happy to attend!

My answer to two is; I haven't contributed yet (technical difficulties), but feel I'm ready to get stuck into without much hand-holding (I am a dev already in non-web stuff).

My answer to four is; So I'm in Dublin, Ireland. I'm a member of the local hackerspace, and we recently started Open-Source Software nights. It would be cool to have a Dreamwidth hackathon as well. Whether there's enough people local is another story.

+1 to more / anything getting done when around others!

I'd be willing to help set up a sprint in London, UK...

I would be happy to host a sprint. I already have occasional geek meetups with DW people on a Saturday afternoon, and we could easily have one of those be coding-focused. (Details on my London meetups tag.)
