From experience, I can say that exposure to these things means that eventually a few things start to make a little more sense. Though a lot of the recent ones have been back-end stuff that won't ever be seen by people looking at the website, but make things less likely to break when someone changes something later. Like a librarian making sure that the file cabinets behind the information desk are alphabetized properly.
