I'm seeing a lot of desktop clients talking about posting entries. But that isn't the main point of Dreamwidth - it's about community, which means reading other people's entries is even more important, and commenting on them. If you miss that out, you're missing out a big chunk of stuff.
Also, one of the reasons Dreamwidth has struggled with clients is because the protocol has changed, and the changes weren't all well documented, and some of the new features haven't been put into the protocol at all yet. So a good project would not just use the existing protocol, but would help document and extend that protocol, to improve things for everyone.
Possibly this comment should go on the dw_biz entry as well - I'll do that now. (And, of course, this is just my personal opinion, and this rant isn't aimed at you so much as the past 15 or so entries I've read.)
