sophie reports it makes Dreamhacks go boom, too, so it is something that should definitely get fixed before the next code push! But I don't know yet if my one line fix is enough or if there is more to it I'm not seeing yet.

(Although it seems to be fine on older sites that already have those userprops stored, it's new installs that go sadface.)
