Open Source Bridge is worth it, and tips

I personally absolutely love Open Source Bridge. I keynoted there last year (much thanks to [staff profile] denise for her crucial editing pass on my talk) and have attended every year for the past three years. It's well-run, and friendly to people across all axes of diversity and experience. I come away from each OSB with new ideas about how to do my work, links to send to my colleagues, and inspiration. And the food (included in the conference) is great.

The call for proposals:

Rather than focusing on a single language, platform, or knowledge-set, we strive to unite those working across the spectrum of open technology and culture....we are looking for people from all experience areas.... All speaking experience levels welcome.

They're hosting a Google Hangout townhall on on 19 February at 4pm PT in case you want to interactively chat with the organizers. Proposal acceptances and wait-list notifications will be sent by 10 April.

Tips: it's fine to submit multiple proposals to increase the chance that one will get accepted (I usually submit two or three). Also, you can edit your proposal to improve it after you submit it, as long as it's before the March 9th deadline.
