http://bugs.dwscoalition.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5133 has to do with ticky boxes not tickying other ticky boxes correctly on the notification settings area. I have no idea how complex this will actually be, but from where I'm sitting, it looks fairly uncomplicated. I've got a user actively asking about getting this fixed, and I'd like to see it done sooner rather than later.

Thanks!

I'll donate $100 to the Electronic Freedom Foundation in the name of anyone who gets Bug 4527 (crossposting Markdown results in bare syntax on remote site) fixed, payable when the fix shows up in production ;)

I would really like to start using Markdown. Unfortunately most of my friends are not cool enough to use Dreamwidth, so I am dependent on crossposting, so this issue makes Markdown use impossible for me. It should be a very small patch; my guess when I looked at it was under 10 lines, though proper error-handling and comments and such will bump it up some.

Time for another round of Kat's Most/Least Wanted Bugs!

Bug 1494: Inbox does not work correctly if JavaScript is not enabled
Bug 3081: Allow renaming pic#xxx keywords
Bug 3454: Userpic Usage
Bug 4004: embeds in comments
Bug 4239: Disable old crossposter links
Bug 4811: Manual crosspost link-up
Bug 4887: Search returns results for suspended users

The one I want done most is Bug 3081, but any of these would be great!

As with last time, these are bugs that've come in through Support requests. They are directly affecting users, and getting them fixed would be fab.

Thanks, folks!

It's been a while since I posted a "most wanted bugs" list! This is the list of bugs that I most want to see implemented, based on either our vision for the site or on what people ask for most often.

For this version I'm leaving off most of the major features that will require lots of design decisions, heavy spec work, etc, etc -- not that those aren't wanted too, but those will require a more concerted effort.

In no particular order other than the order Bugzilla listed them for me:

I've had a few people ask me lately about which major features would be most helpful (for Dreamwidth) for them to work on, and I figured it would be a good idea to highlight some of the big projects we have planned and see if anybody wanted to pick them up!

For all of these: if you are interested in working on the project, don't feel like you have to do everything. We can find someone to do the frontend if you're interested in the backend, for instance, or find someone who's interested in doing design work if you aren't sure what the end-user-facing things might look like. If the project doesn't have a full spec, we can write one. Etc, etc, etc.

I would love to get at least one of these major projects completed by the end of the year, so if there's anything I can do to interest you in one of these projects, or if there's anything I can do to help you out with getting them done, just let me know. Our recent surge in user registration is a fabulous opportunity for us to show people how awesome DW really is and win their loyalty forever.

This post is not all of the major projects that are in Bugzilla, but they're the ten most wanted right now!

It's been a while since I've done a list of the Bugs I Most Want! This is the list of things I've been wanting someone to get to for a while, so if you've been looking for a project to pick up, you might want to take a look at the list.

(This is not to say that I am not happy with anything people do -- I was just explaining in irc, the reason I haven't been doing more roadmap-type stuff is because it's been working so well with people just grabbing whatever they feel like doing, and we're releasing useful new features and things I want for DW fast enough without me trying to impose any kind of structure on the chaos and entropy that is DW dev. *G*)

Anyway, this is my 20 Most Wanted list. Right now, at least. (It might change tomorrow.)

LJ just unveiled two features I've wanted here but haven't known how to implement, which are a tag list on the update page, and searching for multiple tags using AND instead of OR.

For the first, am I to assume that the new update page will support this, so we don't need to bother with trying to patch the feature into the old update page? Or perhaps rather that the new update page won't support it immediately, but it will be such a radical change that we shouldn't even bother working on it until then? (I really want this ASAP, and it has appeared on "most wanted".)

For the second, should we roll our own fix adopting LJ's URL syntax, or attempt a codemerge? Here's the syntax for those who missed the announcement:

http://username.livejournal.com/tag/tag1,tag2?mode=and
http://username.livejournal.com?tag=tag1,tag2&mode=and

The URL syntax was what bogged us down on that bug, and this seems like a reasonable solution, plus it's what users of both sites will come to expect.

Links to our Bugzilla:

http://bugs.dwscoalition.org/show_bug.cgi?id=581 (for the tag list)
http://bugs.dwscoalition.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1585 (for multiple tag search)

I ran an unofficial survey in my personal journal asking people to take a look at Bugzilla and see what they most wanted. The results are here: February Most Wanted (Google Docs spreadsheet).

Results: Draft posts are #1 on the list (it's a good thing that Mark and I are working on it!), main/alternate account linking is #2, and adding a tag list on update.bml is #3.

Some of the ones that came up, with more than one mention, surprised me, so go take a look and see what people named as their most wanted. It might inspire you to work on something!

Sometimes people look at the list of bugs we have open and wonder which ones would most benefit Dreamwidth, or wonder which ones to start on, or wonder what's most-requested, etc etc etc. I decided that I'd start making a monthly list of the bugs I most want resolved from a business standpoint and posting it, for people to pick from if they find something they find suitable.

This is the January list, updated from December! December's list had five bugs claimed and/or finished off it, which is awesome <3

This is just my personal list -- Mark may have his own! -- and I've tried to keep it a mixture of little and big.
