(no subject)

From now until the time I write Monday's [site community profile] dw_news update, every submitted patch (even if it's a one-liner!) accepted into the codebase will earn its coder one DW invite code to give out or use however they desire.

(Bonus codes for tricky/big/involved patches.)

We'll be giving out codes to other volunteer projects too, not just development, but this one's relatively easy to measure. :)

Is all of the English stripping done? That's the sort of thing people who don't know anything about coding I could do.

Oooh. Is this something anyone (say, me) is allowed to try? Because I don't know coding, but English is my friend.

I didn't know that, and I'll go read the wiki page now.

Thanks!

I'm totally gonna do a patch.. and then submit it in the form of multiple one line patches. ;-)

In return, you will get an invite code spread out over multiple emails, one letter at a time. Out of order. ;)

(... I know you were joking, it's just ... y'know, the purpose is to get bugs resolved, not to have a huge number of patches. )

Oh I totally agree :-) And I love your reply.

Put up a list of bugs that look suitable for bounty-hunting here: http://dw-dev.dreamwidth.org/3740.html

Not all of them are simple, but I've tried to organize roughly from simple down to not-so-simple to make it easier for devs to choose, based on their skill level.

i am sad :(

all i know how to do is *use* an LJ-type system - i know less than nothing about coding.
i want to help... i just don't know how (i went and read the Wiki about english-stripping, and, well, it did not make any sense to me at all)

i am also having the issue of i want to copy everything over here from my LJ (for a lot of different reasons) and i want to be able to mirror some posts, and i don't know how to do that; i have announced that i have a DW account and have told everyone where it is, but thats about as far as i have been able to go. i know that you CAN do these things, i just don't know how. i have been waiting for the boyfriend to get back home to help me, but that won't be until sunday. is there a place i can go that will teach me all of these things? (yes, yes, i am very challenged, i KNOW. its why i stuck to LJ, it was easiest. DW is even EASIER, which is a HUGE bonus)

if there are other things i can do to help that don't involve coding, please let me know :) (i do have a good half-dozen people who want invite codes the second that they are available, because they want to switch over. i guess my bestest help right now is PR)
